Dell makes a number of very good netbook starting with screen sizes of 8.9 inches and continuing up to 12 inches. We're focusing on the 10.1 and 11.6 inch netbooks for price/performance advantages.

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 10.1-Inch Obsidian Black Netbook (with up to 8 Hours 8 Minutes of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)) is a good basic netbook. It has the most basic of netbook specifications:

The use of an Atom processor and 10.1 inch screen limits performance but provides good performance on basic tasks (wordprocessing, spreadsheets, web browsing, etc) while maintaining excellent battery life. The screen is clear, the keyboard is good, and the price and weight are world class for this type of netbook. This product is available in a wide range of colors.
Dell Inspiron 11 11.6-Inch Obsidian Black Laptop
Moving up a notch we find the Dell Inspiron 11 11.6-Inch Obsidian Black Laptop (Windows 7 Premium). They call it a laptop, we call it a netbook.
This is an excellent machine no matter what you call it and it made our list for best 11.6 inch netbooks. It is one of our favorites.
